Beyond the Forum: Take Action with the Sun Valley Forum Impact Hub
Our recently hosted Sun Valley Forum brought together global leaders across sectors such as industry, innovation, government, and advocacy to share their work and accelerate resilience. For those that were unable to attend or who are interested in diving deeper into and becoming involved with the projects highlighted at the forum, our Forum Impact Hub is a great resource for exploring solutions and strategies for resilience that you can engage with today. From learning how to invest in the circular economy to taking action to persuade major banks to take action on climate change, the Impact Hub is a great place to get involved with and learn about resilient solutions.
The Temasek Trust joined us at the Forum to share their priority highlighted by the Impact Hub,..... Their Climate Action work is focused on “piloting sustainable models and supporting innovative solutions to conserve and restore natural ecosystems in Southeast Asia.” Mangroves, seagrass meadows and tropical forests are all ecosystems that play important roles in carbon removal because of their ability to store great amounts of the gas. The Temasek Foundation recognises their importance, and is supporting projects such as the Mangrove Conservation and Restoration through Climate Smart Aquaculture initiative to help rejuvenate these ecosystems.
Excitingly, the Temasek Foundation is not the only organization that recognizes the importance of coastal ecosystems such as mangroves. This past June, the World Bank approved the The Mangroves for Coastal Resilience Project, which will focus on “strengthening the policy and institutions for mangrove management and rehabilitation, promoting sustainable mangrove management, as well as improving the livelihood opportunities for Indonesian coastal communities living around mangrove forests in selected areas.” To read more about this significant new project, dive into this World Bank announcement and the project details.
