Earth Day

Happy Earth Day!

A note from our founder...

I just love this picture and message from a 1970s poster that my sister Eloise shared with me today - it reminds me of growing up guided by our parents' love of nature growing up in Northern California: Mom's deep understanding and love of all creatures, especially the smallest, and dad's ethic to fight for the right kind of development and to build in the right way as a builder developer - he helped protect Marin County's golden hilltops. They inspired and continue to inspire all I do, in life and work.

And now from all of us...

Today is a big day and Earth Week has been a HUGE week for our Christensen Global community! We are excited to have so much great news - we need it, as we all work to do our best for our planet and all with whom we share it. Here goes....

Today Box - a company that allows us all to work together better - announced that our CEO, Aimée Christensen, has joined the incredible Box.org Advisory Council to help to grow positive impact. Box.org brings Box’s products, people, and passion together across three key areas: child welfare, crisis response, and the environment. In March, Box released their first ESG report and based on a materiality assessment conducted last year, energy & climate will be their focus within the “E”. Aimée can't wait to help to support their ever growing impact led by her former Google colleague, Corrie Conrad, now VP of Communities and Impact for Box and head of Box.org -- Plus she gets to work with her Smith College classmate, Lauren Woodman, CEO of DataKind, a fellow member of the Council!

Our friends at Ford Motor Company are having a big day at the Memphis Auto Show: in addition to the Built To Electrify experience providing the opportunity to drive the Mustang Mach-E and Ford F-150 Lightning, today Ford announced a major new partnership with the University of Tennessee, the Tennessee Wildlife Federation and the West Tennessee River Basin Authority (WTRBA) to restore the very special Hatchie Watershed and to fund STEM education. It will propel economic development, education, and conservation throughout the mid-south as part of Ford's Blue Oval City investments!

Yesterday Riskthinking.AI announced that Bloomberg has invested in Riskthinking.AI to accelerate the availability of in-demand climate risk data and analytics. The two companies have entered a strategic partnership to explore climate financial risk modeling. This is powerful fuel to enable good data and analysis to guide capital and asset management to benefit our climate and enable reduced harm from climate change impacts.

Earlier this week Hempitecture announced that its HempWool® is now a USDA Certified Biobased Product! Individually verified by Beta Analytics Testing Laboratory, the biobased content of HempWool® insulation is officially 89.9% This means that the organic carbon content of our flagship insulation product, HempWool, qualifies it to be placed in the Federal Government BioPreferred Program and that all customers can be assured that they have a biobased alternative for healthy, climate smart building projects! Their WeFunder seed round will close at the end of the month!

And today Aleph Farms announced a collaboration with Daniel Elkayam, a Tel Aviv-based art-designer, "to explore how art and design can shift perspective, inspiring reflection and engagement about Earth Day. The art installation, entitled Alchemy Table, features a handmade furniture collection made from cowhide-patterned wood including a custom table and set of chairs with a handmade wall piece. The collection is centered around one of the most human experiences — the dining table." We believe that art can inspire and engage and activate, and love this project!

Today and everyday we are grateful for our Christensen Global community, our clients and collaborators, with whom we love to work, and who give us so much hope! Join us to build more community, hope and action at our Sun Valley Forum, June 6-8, 2022. Registration opens next week. #earthday #climatesolutions #peopleandplanet #loveyourmother
