Shelley Cohen is an experienced chief executive officer, entrepreneur, and renewable energy project developer focused on solar PV, energy storage, building efficiency, and microgrids. She is a transformative leader with a history of building and managing impactful teams, companies and industries that improve environment quality, create jobs, and provide meaningful benefits to low- and moderate-income communities. Ms. Cohen is a strong advocate of incorporating gender and race equality into the workplace and the clean-energy industry, and champions socially responsible business practices, mentoring and workforce development, and education access. A strong entrepreneurial and philanthropic professional, she has experience with nonprofit organizations and boards, (NWF, MDV-SEIA, DC Environmental Film Festival), Corporate Social Responsibility, and Fundraising. She is a trained Climate Leader (2012) and Mentor (2017 of the Climate Reality Project. She Graduated from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University (MPA) and Tufts University (BA). Mom of two daughters, Girl Scout Troop Leader and advocate for girls and women. Shelley has worked on all sides of the table and brings a unique perspective to CGS that balances her government, Non-profit, and private sector experience which enables her to bring rare insights into public-private partnerships that advance impact. She also brings to CGS her vast knowledge of renewable energy and energy efficiency project development, structured finance, and policy.
